This Irish Crystal Pendant is made from mouth-blown and hand cut, authentic Irish Crystal. Designed and crafted by Michael Fanning in Waterford Ireland. The crystal pendant measures approx. 3cm. The sterling silver chain is 55cm/22inch in length and hallmarked in Dublin Castle. Each piece of crystal and silver is handmade with care in Waterford, Ireland.
Inspired by the passage tomb at Newgrange. Dates back to 3200 B.C is older than the pyramids in Egypt and is officially a World Heritage site. At dawn on the December 21, the shortest day of the year, every year and the cut pattern reflects the sunlight as it shines directly into the central chamber of the tomb. It is believed that this was an ancient way of measuring the passage of time, like a calendar for the ancient farmers, or that the light has some religious significance for those in the afterlife. This pendant represents that reflected light in the tomb.
This Necklace comes in a branded gift box and makes a beautiful gift for a loved one.
